  Dear Ambassador Susman I am writing about the case of Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace. They are 2 of the “Angola 3” who have spent almost 39 years in solitary confinement in Louisiana for a crime they did not commit. These 2 innocent men were prosecuted for a murder of a prison guard in the 70s for which there is no physical evidence. They were convicted on the basis of a testimony of an unreliable prison informant and a blind eye witness. US Representative John Conyers, while Chairman of The Judiciary Committee, visited Herman and Albert and has resolved to secure their release. But despite evidence of their innocence, state and prison officials have not taken action to grant their freedom. Please use your influence and authority to intervene in this matter by asking Eric Holder, Attorney General, and Jimmy LeBlanc, Louisiana Department of Corrections, to investigate Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace’s cases now to ensure this serious miscarriage of justice is revoked and they are freed.
